FISD Canvas- What is It?

Canvas is an LMS that allows teachers to create and manage course content. Teachers use Canvas to communicate with students and parents, as well as provide access to course content.

How to Login to Canvas FISD? 

To login, you need to enter your email address and password. If you are a parent, use your child’s username and password. You can also access the site from any computer or device as long as it is connected to the internet. This means that if you have a phone with Wi-Fi enabled, you can access the site from anywhere in the world!

What Can You Access as a Parent in Canvas?

• You can view your child’s grades, attendance and assignments.
• You can view your child’s grades, attendance and assignments for individual students.
• You can see their schedule.
• You can check in on your student through the teacher’s dashboard by clicking on the student name in Canvas. The teacher will receive a notification that you have been added to the gradebook so they know they need to communicate with you via Canvas if there is an issue with your student’s progress or behavior at school.
• You can request a schedule change for your child as well as access other resources such as attendance records and student information (such as allergies).

Q– Can my parents track my growth on FISD Canvas?

Yes. Your parents can track your growth on Canvas FISD.

To keep parents inform about their students’ progress, schools are require to provide access to grades and other information through the parent portal. All students whose parents have signed up for an account will have a link to their own parent portal in their My Page on Canvas FISD. This information is not visible on the students’ public profile page, but it is easily accessible from within their My Page.
