Smoking tobacco is known to affect a person’s overall body significantly, resulting in early disease and death. Smoking, for instance, can lead to immune system damage, cancer, COPD, heart disease, infertility, and gum disease.
Most people find it difficult to stop smoking, even though the negative effects on health are entirely avoidable by doing so. However, a lot of people are giving up tobacco.
Smoking tobacco is decreasing
The number of smokers in the US is at an all-time low, despite the fact that quitting is challenging. For instance, from 20.9% in 2005 to 13.7% in 2018, the percentage of smokers in the United States decreased. Also, more people are giving up.
Most people have turned to vaping in their search for tobacco substitutes, although a small percentage of people have started smoking wild hemp cigarettes.
What are hemp cigarettes?
Hemp cigarettes resemble tobacco cigarettes in appearance and feel, but they are made exclusively of hemp flower and not tobacco. Because hemp contains significant amounts of CBD, others want hemp cigarettes.
Smoking CBD has many advantages, such as pain alleviation and a decrease in tension and anxiety. Unlike popular belief, smoking hemp cigarettes won’t make you feel high.
Obtained from the cannabis plant’s hemp form, CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid (not the marijuana plant). THC levels in CBD products must be less than 0.3% to be considered lawful, which is insufficient to have any noticeable psychoactive effects.
You might be unsure whether it’s okay to smoke hemp cigarettes despite the fact that they don’t have much THC or any tobacco in them. Are hemp cigarettes a viable alternative to tobacco or are they just acceptable occasionally?
The answer depends on a number of elements, some of which are covered here.
Are hemp cigarettes safer than tobacco?
You always face the risk of getting breathing issues when you smoke anything since you are breathing chemical substances into your lungs.
But marijuana smokers experience the same thing. There are risks associated with smoking anything that is wrapped in paper, but occasionally the advantages exceed the risks.
For instance, smoking is the quickest way to deliver CBD to your system if you need it right away. You don’t always have time to wait a few hours for an oil or food to start working when you’re in pain or stressed out.
Additionally, some people consume marijuana to open their airways. Some claim that CBD smoked provides the same effect.
It may be difficult to find convincing scientific evidence, but it is logical to think that CBD cigarettes have the ability to provide quick relief.
It’s not a good idea to smoke them regularly, though, just like with any other smokable substance. Long-term smoking is bad for your lungs and overall health. The ideal way to utilize hemp cigarettes is as a therapeutic tool, not as a tobacco substitute.
Don’t use hemp cigarettes to quit smoking tobacco
Don’t immediately switch to hemp cigarettes if your goal is to stop smoking tobacco. Despite the fact that CBD is not inherently addictive, many people find that smoking is their biggest barrier to quitting.
You will only be replacing one habit with another if you move from tobacco to hemp cigarettes. As addictive as nicotine is, smoking anything on paper is also addictive.
By switching the type of cigarettes you smoke, you won’t succeed in stopping if you smoke to relieve stress at work or just to take a break.
Use hemp cigarettes as a form of self-care or relaxation
Do not overdose CBD products rather, use them as a supplement. Even if research has shown that people can consume up to 1500mg of CBD daily without experiencing negative side effects, it’s still a good idea to keep your CBD in check.
It’s probably not a good idea to smoke hemp cigarettes if you already have a tobacco addiction. Get your CBD instead from a different kind of product, such as a cbd vape pen, edible or pure CBD smoke.
You probably don’t need to worry as much about occasionally smoking hemp cigarettes if you don’t already smoke.
